Forestry/Environmental News: FCS Network: Forest & Range Practices Act – The FCS Network is hosting open public sessions on the new Forest and Range Practices Act. The FREE 2 hour session is on Tuesday, June 29, 2004 from 7:00 to 9:00 pm. Simultaneous sessions will be held in Vancouver, Kamloops, Nanaimo, Nelson and Prince George. The session is specifically geared to the public, First Nations, and other resource users. It will provide you with information on the changes, particularly those affecting recreation, road access, wildlife, and opportunities for public and First Nations involvement. Motor Vehicle Related News: The Industrial Roads Act is the new title of the Highway (Industrial) Act, RSBC 1996, c. 189. This was as a result of the Highway (Industrial) Amendment Act, 2004, SBC 2004 c. 37 coming into force by Royal Assent on May 13, 2004. Coming June 28, 2004 – the Passenger Transportation Act, SBC 2004 c. 39 [2004 Bill 30], which repeals the Motor Carrier Act, RSBC 1996, c. 315.
