ENVIROFOR NEWS:

Legislature to be recalled
The Legislature has been recalled for August 25, 2009. It is expected the session will deal extensively with the government's initiatives on the economy.

Sections Not Yet In Force:
The April EnviroFor Reporter made reference to a number of amendments that came into effect on April 3, 2009. Many, but not all of the sections in the Final Agreement Consequential Amendments Act, 2007 [2007 Bill 41, chap. 36] came into force. This Bill made extensive amendments to a number of Acts. Bill 41 was in turn amended by a number of consequential amendments in the Maa-Nulth First Nations Final Agreement Act [2007 Bill 45, chap. 43]. Please be aware that we had prematurely posted some of these amendments when in fact they had not yet come into force. These amendments were corrected shortly after posting. The affected Acts were: Forest Act, Gas Utility Act, Protected Areas of British Columbia Act, and the Water Act. If you require further clarification, please email us at info@quickscribe.bc.ca .

New EnvirFor Reporter Release Date
Please note that EnviroFor Reporters will now be released sometime within the first week of every month. Our rationale for moving the date is to accommodate the ever-increasing number of changes that come into force at the very end or beginning of each month. This most recent Reporter was published mid July due a slow down in legislative activity and staff vacations during this time. For your convenience we have included the July 1 amendments.
