Plan For Pine Beetle Dollars Released – It was recently announced that federal funds aimed at helping B.C. respond to the mountain pine beetle epidemic will be used to help communities plan for the future. The Mountain Pine Beetle Emergency Response: Canada-B.C. Implementation Strategy is a three-year business plan for the $100 million received from the federal government to mitigate the effects of the pine beetle attack. See the News Release.

Identified Wildlife Management Strategy – The Identified Wildlife Management Strategy (IWMS) Version 2004 contains an updated list of identified wildlife, updated species accounts and updated procedures for implementing the IWMS. See: IWMS

Categories For Species At Risk – In the spring of 2004 a category of species at risk was established by order made under section 11(1) of the Government Actions Regulation (BC Reg. 17/04) of the Forest and Range Practices Act. This category of species at risk represents those species that may be affected by forest or range management on Crown land. See: Categories of Species at Risk
